I woke up Sunday morning, slid into my skinny jeans, a low-cut, tight black shirt, and stilettos; and slipped on a pair of shades. There’s something about going to visit the set of a series that has been labeled “slick,” “sexy,” and “dangerous” that just makes a gal want to look good…even at 7:00 a.m.

Last Sunday I was lucky enough to be invited onto the set of The Bannen Way, an original web series, funded by Sony for their digital platform, Crackle.

So what, I hear you cry but this series is like no other. The production values are streets ahead of anything else that you’ll have seen on the web and although no-one was prepared to give me an exact figure, I wouldn’t be surprised if the budget hovered somewhere in the region of $1million.

Plenty of juicy tidbits released today from Crackle’s highly anticipated action thriller web series The Bannen Way. It’s no secret we’re hot on this one, and for good reason. It’s one of the rare few web series that landed a major studio deal on just a trailer. Sure it was a slick and sexy teaser shot on the RED One, but still an indie series from the get-go.

Sony Pictures Entertainment’s Web video site Crackle.com will launch a pair of original series later this year along with a slew of theatrical movies as the property continues its evolution toward becoming a destination for premium, young-male-targeted content.

Due this summer is the action-comedy series “Dusty Peacock,” which features an inept stuntman looking to perform one memorable stunt. That show was created by “King of Queens” star Kevin James and stars his brother Gary Valentine. Also in the works is the action-drama “The Bannen Way,” which depicts a con man trying to change his ways.

This one could be good, really good. Check out The Bannen Way. The trailer was just posted this week while the show creators Mark Gantt and Jesse Warren lock up a distribution partner for the show. Shot with the new RED camera, which emulates the look and feel of film at a fraction of the cost, the visuals are stunning. The sexy action series stars Gantt as Neal Bannen, a debaucherous thief looking to go straight after years on the wrong side of the law.
